Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

Are you dressing up? Did you carve a pumpkin?

We’re not going to any parties this year, but we are going to see a friend’s production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW tonight.

While I was looking for pictures of Teen Me (note – don’t forget to enter my contest for a copy of DEAR TEEN ME!), I found a few of my sisters and me from childhood.

Halloween 1989 – A as a genie, Baby S as a sad clown, and me as a flapper!

Halloween 1990 – A as a witch, me as the genie, and S as an adorable pumpkin!

All grown up! A, me, and S a few weeks ago

Sadly, my ONCE UPON A TIME pumpkin didn’t make it ’til Halloween.

(Also, it’s REALLY HARD to carve out letters.)

  1. Happy Halloween! Hope you enjoy the Rocky Horror Show tonight! I’m planning on staying in tonight and watching scary movies, while eating the cakes I’ve been busy baking. Should be fun – plus it’s a night off before NaNoWriMo begins!

    1. Rocky Horror was super fun! Hope your NaNo is going well – mine hit a lull while I had to work on some Star Cursed copyedits and stuff, but I'm hoping to get back on track this week! I'll be happy if I hit 30k, honestly.

  2. Rocky Horror Picture Show is AWESOME!! I just went for my 4th time a couple of months ago as a farewell to summer thing with my friends, super fun!! HAVE FUN TONIGHT!!! And cute pictures!

BTW carving letter in pumpkins is a pain! So I looked up ideas last night, and I saw "Boo" in bubble letters, and I was like "Oooh, that looks pretty simple!" NOT! It's impossible to do bubble letters, because how do you get the middle of the "O" to stay and the two little circles in the "B" to stay??? Impossible!! lol

  3. I dressed up as Harry Potter at a library trick or treat trail, and I dressed as Dr. Frankenstein at work on Halloween. For the first year ever, Hubby and I didn't go to a costume party OR carve pumpkins (I blame the hurricane) and it bummed me out. Because, Jessie, I am SO GOOD at pumpkin carving. (See my Pinterest Halloween decoration page for proof: http://pinterest.com/heyboobooks/halloween-decora… )

But! We did decorate our house all spooky and we got to watch a lot of great spooky movies (Hocus Pocus, The Bodysnatcher, Birdemic, The Final Sacrifice, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Werewolves of London, Young Frankenstein, Edward Scissorhands, Frankenweenie, Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Dawn of the Dead).

Did one on your sisters go to Elizabethtown College?- because my older sister did! Happy Late Halloween 😀
